The Force10 S-Series™ , C-Series™ and E-Series® Ethernet switch/routers running FTOS (Force10 operating system) software version 7.8, received Common Criteria certification to the Evaluation Assurance Level 2 (EAL-2). The certification validates that the FTOS design, software development methodology, and multi-layered security mechanisms meet or exceed the second evaluation assurance level for controlled access as defined by the international standard. In addition, the E-Series family of switch/routers has successfully passed the U.S. Army Technology Integration Center (TIC) evaluation tests and is included on the I3MP recommended product list.
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has listed Force10’s Traverse® and TraverseEdge™ multiservice transport platforms and the Adit® 600 converged services access gateway on the Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UCAPL). This listing results from extensive security and interoperability certification testing performed by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). Receipt of this JITC certification verifies that the Adit 600 adheres to various contract and testing requirements mandated by the DoD, making the purchase and deployment of the platform an easier process for the DoD as well as approved intelligence and civilian agencies.
