Force10 Networks E-Series switch/router and ADVA's FSP (Fiber Service Platform) series of C/DWDM combine unmatched scalability with best-of-class resiliency to bring the network and application reliability required to maximize network performance. Both solutions are based on fully distributed hardware and modular software to deliver line-rate Gbit/s and 10 Gbit/s throughput across all ports regardless of traffic type or condition, while built-in redundancy guarantees performance continuity. Together, ADVA and Force10 deliver a complete high-performance optical networking solution required to support bandwidth-intensive applications like Grid/cluster computing, Internet access and storage area networking/business continuance.

All of the features delivered by Force10 E-Series switch/routers can be extended and multiplexed up to 256 times transparently over ADVA’s C/DWDM platforms. Using systems like the FSP 3000 and FSP 2000, customers can transport and aggregate the full suite of IP services, together with additional protocols such as SONET/SDH, Fiber Channel, ESCON, and ATM.
