JITC APPROVES FORCE10 NETWORKS ADIT 600 FOR INTEROPERABILITY IN DOD NETWORKS

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 9, 2009 – Force10 Networks, Inc., the global technology leader that service provider, enterprise, and data center operators rely on when the network is their business, today announced that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has listed the company’s Adit® 600 Converged Services Access Gateway on the Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UCAPL).  This listing results from extensive security and interoperability certification testing performed by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) at their Ft. Huachuca, AZ, facility.  Receipt of this JITC certification verifies that the Adit 600 adheres to various contract and testing requirements mandated by the DoD, making the purchase and deployment of the platform an easier process for the DoD as well as approved intelligence and civilian agencies.

“Applications that require support for both legacy TDM and serial services exist throughout the government,” said Justin Bonner, vice president of Norseman Defense Technologies.  “Force10’s Adit 600 is an ideal fit for these applications, and now that the product listed on the UCAPL, we can provide these government customers with a solution that is flexible and economical.”

Optimized for a wide range of applications, the Adit 600 combines multi-network access and multi-service delivery capabilities into a single compact chassis. This results in an extremely cost-effective and flexible access platform that simplifies network design and implementation.  With over 130,000 chassis installed by Force10 customers worldwide, the Adit 600 is used by the DoD to multiplex numerous types of data and communications signals together.  Its small size and extensive service flexibility make it ideal for land, sea and air communications networks.

“Force10 is extremely pleased to have successfully completed the stringent JITC interoperability testing for our Adit 600 product,” said George DeLisle, vice president of federal sales for Force10 Networks.  “We are committed to meeting the extensive security and interoperability requirements of our government customers, and we look forward to continuing to provide them with proven solutions that are cost-effective, flexible and highly reliable.”
