FORCE10 NETWORKS NAMES LOREN HILLBERG AS GENERAL COUNSEL

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 18, 2007 – Force10 Networks®, the pioneer in building and securing reliable networks, today announced that it has named Loren Hillberg as general counsel.  Mr. Hillberg brings more than 22 years of legal and management experience to Force10, where he will be responsible for implementing and directing the company’s compliance and corporate governance programs. 

“Loren has successfully managed the legal and business affairs of leading technology companies by adroitly navigating through challenging and changing regulatory environments while advancing core business objectives,” said Force10 Networks President and CEO Marc Randall.  “His management experience in the industry will be a great asset as he directs Force10’s compliance and regulatory processes.” 

Prior to joining Force10, Mr. Hillberg served as general counsel and general manager for the digital commerce initiative at Macrovision, where he was responsible for driving the adoption of key strategic business objectives.  While serving as senior vice president and general counsel at Macromedia, Mr. Hillberg managed key patent litigation as well as internal and external legal activities.  Earlier, he was general counsel at Micro Focus.  Mr. Hillberg began his career as a corporate attorney with Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe.  He holds a B.A. in economics from Stanford University and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

In addition to directing Force10’s compliance and regulatory programs, Mr. Hillberg will also manage Force10’s intellectual property portfolio, which includes 19 U.S. patents and five international patents.  He will report to Force10 Networks CEO Marc Randall.
