LEADING LIVE-ACTION 3D CONTENT CREATOR BUILDS HIGH PERFORMANCE, LOW LATENCY NETWORK WITH FORCE10 NETWORKS

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 17, 2007 – Force10 Networks®, the pioneer in building and securing reliable networks, today announced that 3ality Digital Systems, the leading 3D technology and video production firm, has deployed the C300 resilient switch and S2410P low latency data center switch in the world’s first all-digital online 3D post production facility.

The Force10 S2410P supports 24 line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports that directly connect 3ality Digital System’s high performance work stations in a low latency network as well as provide the bandwidth for on-location video production.  With a single concert or sporting event in live-action 3D requiring three Gigabits per second (Gbps) sustained throughput per camera for several hours, the high density, line-rate capacity of the S2410P allows 3ality Digital Systems to achieve maximum bandwidth efficiency for manipulating large 3D graphics and video files.

To provide a high performance foundation for its business network, 3ality Digital Systems deployed the Force10 C300.  Supporting 384 power over Ethernet (PoE)-enabled line-rate Gigabit Ethernet ports, the C300 powers 3ality Digital System’s voice over IP (VoIP) system while support for 32 line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports provides the high speed throughput to connect the storage cluster into the network.  Designed to provide high quality reliability, the C300 features advanced power management that allows 3ality Digital Systems to prioritize PoE ports, providing guaranteed VoIP performance in the event of a power supply failure.
