PANDO NETWORKS ENABLES LARGE FILE SHARING SERVICE WITH FORCE10 NETWORKS TERASCALE E-SERIES

SAN JOSE, Calif., January 17, 2007 – Force10 Networks®, the pioneer in building and securing high performance networks, today announced that Pando Networks has deployed the TeraScale E-Series® family of switch/routers and S50 data center switches to build a high performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet network that is reliably processing over 50 Terabytes of data every day. The industry leading density and resiliency of the Force10 TeraScale E-Series provides the scalability and investment protection Pando requires to enable nearly three million customers to upload and download files as large as one Gigabyte.

“With installs growing at nearly a million per month, we needed a network that would support high daily traffic volumes without flinching,” said Pando Networks’ Chief Technology Officer Laird Popkin. “The TeraScale E-Series was the only solution we found that could withstand the high volume of traffic on our network without impacting performance.”

The Force10 TeraScale E300 is the foundation of Pando Networks’ hybrid peer-to-peer file-sharing network and provides the resilient, high density 10 Gigabit Ethernet capacity in the core of the network that Pando needs to ensure the performance of its service. Additionally, the unique stacking capability of the Force10 S50 allows Pando to build a resilient aggregation layer within the data center to interconnect its servers. Together, the Force10 TeraScale E-Series and S50 provide Pando with a high-performance end-to-end network that will seamlessly support continued customer and traffic growth.

As a compact, fixed configuration switch with 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports, the S50 provides the high density that will allow Pando to expand its network as needed and reliably access its data center applications.
