KOREA’S LEADING SEARCH ENGINE AND INTERNET PORTAL INCREASES NETWORK PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY WITH FORCE10 TERASCALE E-SERIES

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 30, 2006 – Force10 Networks®, a pioneer in building and securing high performance networks, today announced that NHN, Korea’s largest Internet company and the leading gaming site in Asia, is increasing the performance and scalability of its network with the TeraScale E-Series® family of switch/routers. The high density and resiliency of the Force10 TeraScale E-Series delivers the flexibility NHN requires to build its high performance network and ensure seamless scalability for future growth.

“The traffic on our network is growing rapidly, and at times, unpredictably, so we needed an infrastructure that could scale without compromising the performance of our services,” said Domin Paik, manager of the system infrastructure lab at NHN. “With the Force10 E-Series, we have built an infrastructure that provides us with the flexibility to scale our search, online gaming and other portal services as demand necessitates.”

NHN is leveraging the high density of the Force10 TeraScale E600 and TeraScale E300 to build a high performance infrastructure for its leading search engine, online gaming site and portal. The TeraScale E600 aggregates more than 20 distribution switches within NHN’s data center and delivers the seamless scalability NHN requires to add capacity on demand. To connect online gamers and users throughout South Korea, the TeraScale E300 provides NHN with resilient, high performance BGP peering.

The Force10 TeraScale E-Series is designed to provide unmatched resiliency to ensure maximum network uptime. The unique three CPU architecture distributes switching, routing and management functionalities between distinct processors to eliminate unplanned network downtime. Additionally, full redundancy ensures the network continues to process traffic in the event of a component failure, providing NHN with the reliability it needs to deliver advanced services.

“The portal community is experiencing a significant growth in traffic driven by online gaming, Web 2.0, IPTV and other rich media content,” said Mark Cooper, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Force10 Networks. “The Force10 TeraScale E-Series is designed to deliver the combination of resiliency and density that high performance networks require to meet the demands of dynamic traffic patterns.”

NHN’s search portal and game destinations consistently rank number one in Korea, with its search engine commanding nearly 70 percent market share. NHN also operates the number one game destination in the crucial Japan and China markets and has more than 170 million subscribers in China alone.

Force10 continues to expand its presence in the South Korean portal and online gaming markets. The Force10 TeraScale E-Series anchors the leading online gaming networks at Neowiz and Nexon. Additionally, NCSoft has deployed the TeraScale E-Series to increase the efficiency of its online gaming design and testing.
