FORCE10 NETWORKS TO HIGHLIGHT HIGH PERFORMANCE DATA CENTER AND SECURITY PRODUCT PORTFOLIO AT INTEROP 2006

MILPITAS, Calif., April 27, 2006 — Force10 Networks® will showcase its high performance switching, routing and security solutions at Interop 2006 in Las Vegas, May 2-4. By combining industry-leading scalability and resiliency on its TeraScale E-Series family of switch/routers with inspection, monitoring and blocking at line-rate 10 Gigabit speeds on its P-Series family of security appliances, Force10 is building and securing many of the world’s highest performance networks.

To expand its data center solutions, Force10 recently introduced the S2410 switch. The S2410 delivers high 10 Gigabit Ethernet density and the industry’s lowest Ethernet switching latency in a compact form factor. By bringing ultra low switching latency to Ethernet, the S2410 allows IT managers to capture the computing benefits of high performance cluster architectures using a familiar and easy to manage technology, simplifying management and reducing operational costs.

In recognition of its innovative architecture, the Force10 S2410 was named a finalist in the data center and storage category for the Best of Interop awards. Selected for its ability to push the state of distributed computing and networking to the next level, the S2410 is the first switch to cost effectively enable IT managers to deploy 10 Gigabit Ethernet throughout their data centers in support of next-generation functionality such as virtualized applications. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 2, in the Interop Theater.

Force10 also recently expanded its product portfolio with the P-Series family, which inspects, monitors and blocks traffic at line-rate 10 Gigabit speeds, enabling IT managers to protect their high speed network without compromising performance. Leveraging programmable hardware, the Force10 P-Series allows IT managers to write rules and signatures directly into hardware in real time. By combining the speed of hardware with the flexibility of software, the Force10 P-Series provides security at the speed of the network.

Additionally, Steve Garrison, vice president of corporate marketing at Force10 Networks, will be speaking on the impact of Ethernet in the data center on Wednesday, May 3, at 11:30 a.m. The session, titled “Will Ethernet Win in the Data Center?,” will examine the triumph of Ethernet over other technologies in the data center and its current battle for dominance in low latency applications.

The Force10 E-Series, S-Series and P-Series will be on display in booth 1237 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
