FORCE10 NETWORKS TO HOST WEBINAR EXPLORING INNOVATIVE METHODS FOR PROTECTING AGAINST DENIAL OF SERVICE ATTACKS
MILPITAS, Calif., January 21, 2004 — Force10 Networks will host a webinar on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. PDT / 2:00 p.m. EDT to explore methods for protecting networks from the rapidly growing threat of denial of service (DoS) attacks. The webinar will examine unique technologies that bring greater security to network elements, creating a second line of defense against denial of service attacks and sharply limiting the productivity and management costs associated with the attacks.
Stephen Garrison, Force10’s senior director of corporate marketing, will discuss the financial and productivity impact of DoS attacks on businesses and examine how the industry is responding to this new challenge. Garrison will highlight various technologies that increase security and resiliency at the switch level by eliminating the backdoors DoS attacks use to disable the network.
Force10 recently announced its Dynamic Security Suite, a series of technologies designed to bring greater security and resiliency to the network. To protect against attacks, Force10 combines its DoS Guard technology and Hot-Lock access control list updates with the E-Series’ distributed architecture, increasing network stability and reducing management costs associated with the attacks.
Force10’s live webinar, “Reducing DoS Vulnerability,” can be accessed by selecting the link on the events tab of Force10’s homepage, http://www.force10networks.com, and following registration directions. Audio will be available from the Internet, but may also be accessed by dialing 800-698-8433 (706-643-0028 international), code 5017916.
