FORCE10 NETWORKS RECEIVES NETWORK WORLD'S PRESTIGIOUS BLUE RIBBON AWARD

MILPITAS, Calif., February 6, 2003 — Force10 Networks, Inc. today announced its E1200 switch/router has received the Blue Ribbon Award from Network World in its first hands-on testing of new 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches. Five vendors’ equipment were put through a comprehensive set of performance tests for Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet, and Force10’s E1200 was the only device to deliver true 10G bit/sec throughput with any frame size.

Force10’s E1200 won the Blue Ribbon Award based on the following test results:

• True 10-Gigabit per second performance for any frame size without packet loss
• Flawless backbone Link Aggregation delivering 30 Mpps across three 10-Gigabit Ethernet trunk ports
• Superior Quality of Service (QoS) policy enforcement on 10-Gigabit Ethernet links
• Only vendor to show 10-Gigabit Ethernet fail-over capabilities utilizing 802.3ad and OSPF
