CISCO EXEC MARK RANDALL JOINS FORCE10 NETWORKS AS VP OF ENGINEERING
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory wins the “Network Bandwidth Challenge” by leveraging 10 Gigabit Ethernet from Force10 Networks.
MILPITAS, Calif., January 9, 2001 — Force10 Networks, a leading developer of next-generation equipment for network service providers, announced today that Marc Randall, long-time engineering executive with Cisco Systems, has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Randall reports to P.K. Dubey, president and CEO of Force10 Networks.
"Marc has spent the last seven years leading world-class engineering teams at Cisco and he’s a great addition to our executive staff," said Dubey. "His leadership skills and technical savvy strengthens our world-class engineering team."
Prior to joining Force10 Networks, Randall spent seven years at Cisco Systems as vice president of engineering where he focused on the development and extension of Cisco’s high-end routing platforms. Under his leadership the Cisco 7500 was recognized as one of the ten most important products to be developed in the valley, according to Network Computing Magazine.
Most recently Randall was responsible for driving Cisco’s VPN initiative and the development of the industry-leading 7100 VPN Router. Prior to Cisco, Randall spent eleven years at Amdahl Corporation as a senior manager responsible for software development in the Processor Products division.
