Force10 has partnered with the Horatio Alger Association to supply the graduating class of distinguished high school students with wireless-enabled computers that will position them for success in higher education and their careers. There is a universal correlation between access to the network and success in academic environments, and Force10 is committed to ensuring the distinguished scholars are able to better meet the online requirements of higher education.
The Horatio Alger Association has been encouraging distinguished individuals to pursue their dreams through higher education. The Association provides great opportunities to a myriad of scholars with financial aid, counseling, and internship and job placement assistance with the hopes that these recipients may have a chance to make an impact on our country and give back to their communities.
Force10 partners with PKI to provide students with real world network experience. With a state-of-the-art network supported by Force10 products, PKI students have the opportunity to work directly with network technologies as part of a curriculum that combines class room training with hands-on experience. By partnering with PKI, Force10 is also helping to build a program that provides students with mentors in the business world to complement their scholarly pursuits.
The Peter Kiewit Institute at the University of Nebraska in Omaha is one of the most inventive and truly advanced Information Technology and Engineering programs in the nation. The best and brightest highly motivated students experience the dynamic alliance of academia and industry under the advisability of both distinguished faculty and business leaders. Combining the disciplines of coursework and practical use in the arenas of engineering, information science and technology enriches the educational culture to better train the next generation of innovators in the industry.
Through a mentoring program at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Force10 encourages innovation from the next generation of the industry’s leaders. Force10 sponsors two students at the university and donates networking equipment for senior design projects and graduate theses. The company also participates on the school’s Electrical Engineering curriculum advisory board, providing a business perspective of the skills graduating students will need to be successful in the industry. Additionally, the company participates on the school’s Business College curriculum advisory board and donates equipment for high performance computing research projects.
St. Cloud State University is Minnesota’s second largest university with more than 16,000 students. In an environment that values global education, civic engagement and critical thinking along with career preparation, SCSU is a comprehensive university offering 175 undergraduate and graduate programs of study. Classes are taught by professors who have a desire to mentor as well as instruct, to impart a lifelong love of learning as well as practical knowledge and job skills.
